of course you need permission! Just because its non profit doesnt change the fact the character is protected by copyright. When you make anything related to the character (in this case modification) you still need permission.

Appreciate the comment, The game was more or less a project for us to learn the fundamentals of working as a team. Unfortunatley due to recent circumstances with Covid 19, some of the members on the team were unable to finish what needed to be done. Again thanks! More to come in the future
